Today’s Irish authors are breathing new life into the country’s celebrated literary tradition, contributing to “an unexpected golden age of Irish prose writing.” In fact, four of the thirteen novels longlisted for the 2023 Booker Prize, one of the world’s most prestigious literary awards, were penned by Irish writers. In this course, students will read three of them and participate in interactive discussions. Classes take place once a month for a three-month period. (includes light refreshments).
