Commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the Liberation of Holocaust Survivors
January 27, 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
After years of telling historical stories in museum exhibits, exhibit writer Sari Boren finds that the stories she still struggles to understand are those of her own family’s history. In this one-woman show, Sari takes us from a critique of the 9/11 Museum to a family trip in modern Berlin, and back in time to Eastern Europe in the 1940s. Throughout the show, she examines how we wrestle with and remember our personal stories within the larger canvas of historical events.
Sari Boren is a writer and museum exhibit developer who has worked on over 50 museum exhibits across the country. Her essays have been published in Copper Nickel, Lilith Magazine, The Southeast Review, Alimentum, Hobart, and Pangyrus, among others. She has received writing grants/fellowships from the St. Botolph Club Foundation, Massachusetts Cultural Council, and Vermont Studio Center, and is currently a member of Boston’s Company One Theater’s PlayLab Unit for emerging playwrights. Sari teaches writing at Grub Street in Boston and is a co-manager of the Four Stories reading series. She attended Brandeis University and the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Born and raised on the Jersey Shore, Sari currently lives in Cambridge, MA.
