Minority Male Initiative Conference – “Charting Your Career Course”

  This conference hosts high school students throughout Monmouth County as well as current Brookdale students. For this year’s format we will have a morning keynote speaker (past Secretary of Higher Education, Dr. Rochelle Hendricks), followed by concurrent workshops, and have words from the current Secretary of Higher Education (Dr. Zakiya Smith-Ellis) and Commissioner of Education (Dr. Lamont Repollet) during lunch. This year’s theme is “Charting Your Career Course.”

 

The goal of the conference is to allow minority male students to meet with professionals from various careers that may be of interest to them. The students will be able to network with the professionals and obtain information on what it takes to be successful in their career of interest. High School seniors that intend to transfer to Brookdale upon graduation as well as current Brookdale students will be able to apply for a scholarship that is redeemable upon registration for the Fall 2019 term.
