I am a pre-social work major at Brookdale, current secretary of the Psychology and Human Services Club, member of the Cheer and Dance Team, and an elite gymnast. I also struggle with PTSD, depression, addiction, and an eating disorder. No one ever talked to me about mental health growing up. I was pegged as an attention-seeking problem child early on, and for year after, that stigma surrounding mental health kept me stuck. Even after years of therapy and treatment, I still struggle. I am slowly learning to be kind to myself, and I am sure I will be on this journey for a long time.
