Peter has been an RN for 28 years. Before transitioning to nursing education, Peter worked in pediatrics and pediatric intensive care at a local hospital for over 10 years and in various home care settings for 18 years both full and part time. Education was always a passion and Peter transitioned to education full time starting in a licensed practical nursing vocational school and came to Brookdale Community College full time in 2021. Peter is also a husband to his wife Ann Marie of 26 years and father to their three children, Christopher, Mary Grace and Nicholas.

Throughout his life, Peter has faced challenges with anxiety and depression. Growing up conversations about emotions, self-identity and sex were not discussed. Living through a childhood of molestation, bullying and low self-esteem culminated in a diagnosis of depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. Through this difficult journey, Peter has found a new sense of peace and has a newfound sense of purpose. He now shares his journey, delivering a message of strength and hope to individuals facing mental health challenges and how his faith and love of his family has brought him back from the darkness within.
