Coming to Campus: COVID-19 Information, Protocols and Policies
Having published only a few poems anonymously in her lifetime, Emily Dickinson is now the toast of 19th Century American Literature. In these informal lectures Brookdale’s retired Humanities dean, Carl Calendar, will discuss Emily’s childhood, her education and her reclusive life as the belle of Amherst. Many of her greatest poems as well as the many mysteries of her life will be explored. We’ll also cover the influence of her family, friends, and the milieu of a 19th Century conservative New England town.
