CVA Gallery of Brookdale Community – Schedule Spring and Summer 2018

Exhibition Open to the Public: January 19th – February 23rd; M – F 10:00 – 4:00; Public Opening Reception, Friday, January 19, 2018, 4:00-7:00. The CVA Gallery Showcases: Exhibiting Members of The Guild of Creative Art; Guest Speakers: Painter Eileen Kennedy at 5 PM and Sculptor Rick Tierney at 6 PM. This program is sponsored in part by the Monmouth County Arts Council and Brookdale’s Visiting Artist Program, administered by The Brookdale Community College Foundation. This show will be on view through February 23rd.

Monday, February 19th, 11:00 – 12 Noon, CVA 210, Silver Point and Tempera Painting Artist Eileen Kennedy, will present her Drawing Demo during Professor Ed Stein’s Drawing II class.

From 1:00 4:00, Ms. Kennedy will demonstrate her Tempera Painting techniques in the CVA Gallery. This event is free and open to the public. This event is sponsored in part by The Monmouth County Arts Council and Brookdale Community College’s Visiting Artist Program, which is administered by the Brookdale Community College Foundation.

Monday, February 19th, 3:00 – 4:00, CVA 118, Metals Sculptor Rick Tierney will present his Metal Welding Technical Talk and Demonstration to our students and interested members of our community. This talk has been sponsored by the Monmouth County Arts Council and Brookdale’s Visiting Artist Program, which is administered by the Brookdale Community College Foundation.

Presentations on the Flat Screen: Photographers Liz and Bob McKay of McKay Imaging and Artist Jill Kerwick’s Sculptural Tableau Photography. This program is sponsored in part by the Monmouth County Arts Council and Brookdale’s Visiting Artist Program, administered by The Brookdale Community College Foundation. This show will be on view through March 29th.

March 14 – 6:00-8:00 Monmouth Arts Education Awards and opening reception for the Teen Arts Festival open to the public.

(The Teen Arts Festival, 3/15-3/16). The college campus is not open to the general public during the Teen Arts Festival since that is a closed event).

April 11th, 6:00 – 7:00, Visiting Artist Jill Kerwick will provide a technical workshop: Digital Photography of Sculptural Tableau. This talk will take place in the Photography Suite, CVA 116 and is open to the public.

April 4 – 16 – Graphic Design Program and Fine Arts including, Drawing, Painting, and Sculpture.

April 19 – May 1 – Digital Animation Program and Jewelry Studio Works on View

April 30th – Collage Publication Party in the CVA Gallery 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM

May 3 –(Thursday) ARCH 132 and ARCH 262 will hold the first of two Group Critiques in the CVA Gallery. 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM and sometimes later. The History of Architecture Students Final Projects will also be on Display along the corridor wall, in the CVA Gallery.

May 7 – (Monday) ARCH 132 and ARCH 262 will hold the second of two Group Critiques in the CVA Gallery. 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM.– The Architecture Program Students’ Final Critiques and the History of Architecture Students Final Projects on Display in the CVA Gallery.

May 8th – (Tuesday) Last day of Instruction. The CVA Gallery is available for final critiques for students in Interior Design, Graphic Design, and the Studio Arts.

May 8th, 6:00 PM, the CVA Gallery will be turned over the CHHANGE and will be the site of their community outreach program exhibition STAND UP AGAINST HATE.
