Chapter Coordinator - Punjabi Chamber of Commerce (Edison)
Position Summary
Punjabi Chamber of Commerce (PCC) is looking for candidates for part-time job.
Designation: CHAPTER COORDINATOR
Must possess strong command of the Punjabi language and be well versed in the Punjabi culture.
Job Description:
1. Responsible for monitoring and administrating all activities of the Chapter including events, programs, conference and meeting support.
2. Database management
3. Act as a point person for members/ delegate travelling in that state.
4. Collaborate with the co-chair to develop membership campaigns and retention programs, and to help develop a meaningful portfolio of membership benefits.
5. Responsible to accomplish tasks and meet deadlines in a limited amount of time and juggle multiple tasks for multiple events without sacrificing performance. Travel within state for various meetings and events that will be reimbursed upon approval.
6. Work with Committee members on updating the chapter’s Facebook page and website with relevant content (monthly at a minimum)
7. Work with Chapter co-chair to ensure that membership recruitment goals are met.
8. Work with the co-chair to develop and maintain chapter membership (and prospective members) database with mailing lists as well as e-mail blast groups.
9. Work directly with the co-chair to maintain the chapter calendar on the website and bring copies of the calendar for distribution to each event (along with blank membership forms and chapter place cards)
10. Organize all educational and program events (working with the various educational and program committees) including invitations, RSVP process, sponsor paperwork, logistics and travel, etc.
11. Systemize the annual fundraising goals with the co-chair to include, but not limited to, writing letters, setting up luncheons, and coordinating fundraising events on an ongoing basis throughout each year.
12. Develop relationships with other regional Chapter coordinators and monitor their various events to serve as possible ideas for future chapter events.
Qualifications
Ideal Candidate Education and Experience requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree preferred with strong communication and writing skills. 2. Strong experience in the administration of non-profit organizations preferred; or the related arts would also be beneficial. 3. Must possess strong command of the Punjabi language and be well versed in the Punjabi culture. Skills/Abilities Required: 1. Inter Relationship- should be able to work with the Chamber staff as well as with chapter members, sponsors, student members, education participants etc. To assist in all relationships with the Chamber in a timely and professional manner 2. Customer Service & Relationship Management – should be able to personally provide high level of interactive service to membership base, building relationships and a referral network Globally. 3. Strong interpersonal skills – Strong organizational and planning skills a must. As a representative of the organization, the coordinator, must be able to present all aspects of our organization intelligently and effectively to any contact. Must be self-directed and work independently. Must assist in ensuring events are well planned, organized and professionally presented. 4. Team Orientation & Interpersonal – highly motivated, passionate and creative team-player with ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with all levels within and external to the organization. 5. Communication – able to effectively and persuasively express self verbally and in writing, using correct language and grammar in a professional, diplomatic and tactful manner. 6. Marketing – Strong creative, strategic, analytical, organizational and personal sales skills with demonstrated skills in the design and execution of marketing and communication activities. 7. Organization & Time Management – able to work independently with minimal supervision and a high degree of self-motivation and self-direction. Able to plan, schedule, and organize professional schedule to complete actions within established deadlines, handling multiple priorities with strong attention to detail in a high-pressure environment. 8.
