Position Summary

Community Grants, Planning, & Housing (CGP&H), a municipal consulting firm, is an established leader in in all aspects of government-funded home rehabilitation programs, affordable housing administration, grant writing and municipal planning. We are seeking an experienced professional to join our housing rehabilitation program inspection team on either a part-time or full-time basis. Expert mentoring will be provided as we're looking for someone who wants to grow their career with us. Our office is located in South Brunswick right off Exit 8A on the Turnpike, though we are looking for someone willing to travel throughout New Jersey to perform inspections. REQUIREMENTS • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in residential construction or conducting residential inspections. • Valid driver's license, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word (including document merge), Excel, emailing, texting. • Defect recognition skills in residential construction, including plumbing, heating, HVAC, electrical, and structural defects. • Professional and courteous demeanor in communicating with general contractors and housing program participants • Integrity and strong work ethic. Punctual and ability to work unsupervised • Must be willing to travel within New Jersey (most days less than 60 miles radius). • Available during weekday standard business hours (part-time schedule can be flexible) LICENSING & SKILLS (desired, not required) • NJ Building Inspector license - minimum current RCS license. For the right candidate, we will hire and train someone willing and able to obtain this license. • NJ Rehabilitation Subcode knowledge would be great, however willingness and ability to successfully complete subject matter training would be fine. • NJ Home inspector experience would be a plus but is not required • Knowledge of HUD housing rehabilitation standards would be a plus, or willingness and ability to successfully complete training on the subject would be acceptable. • Bilingual in Spanish would be helpful but not required Salary: Competitive wages based on experience, skills and industry benchmarks.
