Position Summary

Schedule: Regular weekly schedule with occasional evening babysitting. The schedule will be determined at least one week in advance based on family needs and the candidate’s availability. Starting June 2025.

About the Role: We are seeking a warm, responsible, and experienced caregiver to provide attentive and nurturing care for our 4-month-old baby. The mother will be working from home some of the time, so the ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a home environment where a parent is occasionally present.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone studying education, early childhood development, teaching, or childcare who is looking to gain hands-on experience with infant care while making a meaningful impact on a child’s early development. There is potential for increased hours, responsibilities, and pay over time for the right candidate.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide loving, attentive care, including feeding, diaper changes, and soothing the baby as needed

• Engage in developmentally appropriate activities to encourage sensory and cognitive growth

• Follow the baby’s nap and feeding schedule, ensuring a consistent and comforting routine

• Maintain a clean and organized baby care area, including tidying toys and cleaning bottles

• Occasionally assist with light baby-related household tasks

• Provide evening babysitting on an as-needed basis

Qualifications

• Experience caring for infants (personal or professional)

• Currently studying or has experience in education, early childhood development, teaching, or childcare (preferred)

• Warm, patient, and responsive to the baby’s needs

• Comfortable working in a home where a parent is sometimes present

• CPR and infant first aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

• Non-smoker

• Reliable transportation to and from our home in Atlantic Highlands

• Strong references required
