Position Summary

Works with and supervises the PCA staff / unlicensed assistive personnel work, who do the direct patient care of ADLs, bathing, assisting with eating, etc. Oversees the proper infection control practices. Participates as a member of an interdisciplinary team which is comprised of all members of the patient care team- therapies, social services, physician, psychology, clinical nutrition and direct support professionals. Communication with families/guardians on all patient-related issues is a large aspect of our nurses role.

As a Registered Nurse in a special hospital, performance of additional responsibilities that are not outlined in this job description may be required in an emergency situation. Additional assistance as a result of staff absences or shortages is also required, including additional weekend and/or holiday time.
