Currently enrolled High Technology High School (HTHS) students are eligible to borrow materials, and use the resources on-site or remotely via Internet and network connections.

Library ID Card Required

As a HTHS student, you must obtain a Brookdale Library identification card to use the resources at the Bankier Library. A library barcode is pre-printed on the identification card. No other identification card is acceptable for library transactions. With your Brookdale Library identification card, you can borrow materials, access the library databases from off campus, and renew books online.

Loan Periods

HTHS Students may borrow a maximum of 5 items. The loan period is 28 days. The staff at the Information Desk and Circulation Desk at 732-224-2935 will be able to provide specific details on which items may be borrowed, how many, and for how long.

Exceptions will be considered on an individual basis. Inquire at the Research Help Desk at 732-224-2443 for reference materials and at the Circulation Desk at 732-224-2935 for others. Special arrangements can be made with the Library Director at 732-224-2482.

Non-Circulating Collections

1st floor — Reference Collections
2nd floor — Law Collection
2nd floor — Periodicals, Newspapers, Microforms
2nd floor — Special Collections: Brookdale Archives, New Jersey, Graphic Arts, and Photography

Returns and Renewals

You may renew your library books if they are not overdue. To renew online, go to the My Library Account login page on the Bankier Library website. HTHS students may renew books for an additional 28 days. All overdue items must be brought to the library to be renewed. Mail or telephone renewal will not be accepted.

Materials can be returned in the bookdrop (located in the library lobby), or dropped off at the Information or Circulation Desks.

It is important to return borrowed materials to the proper location. Materials left on open tables and carrels may not be discharged from your library account.

Restrictions and Replacement Costs

Failure to return library materials by their due dates will result in a restriction placed on your library account. This restriction will prevent you from further borrowing privileges until your library obligations have been settled.

A replacement bill will be sent to HTHS to recover the costs of overdue library materials. The bill includes a replacement cost as well as a non-refundable processing fee of $25.00 per item.

If an overdue item is paid for and then returned within one year from the due date, a refund for the replacement costs, minus the processing fee, will be given. A paid receipt may be required to obtain such refund.

Delinquent Library Account

The Bankier Library and Brookdale Community College reserve the right to forward all delinquent accounts to Collection Agencies.

Missing Materials

If the library catalog indicates that the item is “AVAILABLE” and the item is not on the shelf, report the missing item at any of the service desks. The library staff will search for the item, place the item on hold and notify you if it is located. If the item cannot be located, its status will be changed to “MISSING”.

Change of Personal Information

You are responsible for informing the Bankier Library if there are changes in your personal information.
