Brookdale Community College and Voyagers’ Community School
Offering Free Innovative Pilot Program for Adult Students 18-24 with Developmental Disabilities

Brookdale Community College and Voyagers’ Community School are proud to announce a free, innovative, pre-vocational program that offers adult students, ages 18 to 24, with developmental disabilities a robust and well-balanced classroom learning experience in life skills, consumer skills, self-advocacy, healthy habits, understanding money, and the innovative uses of technology.

This community college-based program, three (3) hours per week 9:30 am – 12:30 pm for 13 weeks, will prepare adults to pursue their goals, clarify their plans, and take the next step as adults. Program offerings will be focused on career readiness, job coaching, group projects targeting a variety of job skills for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Participation in activities and experiences will strengthen students’ soft skills and career skills, increase self and career awareness, increase understanding of practical steps in preparing for employment, provide vocational awareness and readiness, and the acquisition of employment and job-specific skills.

This program will begin in late January, 2023.
