Voluntary Framework of Accountability.  The VFA is the principle accountability framework for community colleges with measures defined to encompass the full breadth of the community college mission and the diversity of students’ goals and educational experiences. The mission-appropriate measures determine how well community colleges are serving students; provide colleges the ability to identify problems and set goals for institutional improvement; and be properly accountable to stakeholders.

Brookdale 2022 Voluntary Framework of Accountability Reports

Public Outcomes Report
This report includes the data that participating VFA colleges are required to report and share publicly. It contains an Overview of VFA’s Cohorts and Outcomes. For the Six-Year (Fall 2015) cohort, outcome measures (award, transfer, persistence) and developmental education progress measures are included. For the Two-Year (Fall 2019) cohort, progress measures such as retention, successful completion of credits, attainment of credit threshold and attainment of outcomes (award, transfer, persistence) are displayed.

Two-Year Progress Report
This is a subset of the Public Outcomes Report that focuses only on the Two-Year (Fall 2019) cohort. Progress measures include retention, first term credit success rate, two-year credit success rate and attainment of credit threshold. Outcome measures include completion of certificate/degree, transfer or still enrolled.

Six-Year Outcomes Report
This is a subset of the Public Outcomes Report that focuses only on the Six-Year (Fall 2015) cohort. Outcome measures include earned credential, transfer without an award, persistence, left with 30+ credits or left with fewer than 30 credits.

Developmental Education Progress Report
This is a subset of the Public Outcomes Report that includes the distribution of developmental need (1, 2, or 3 levels below college level in a subject). Of students with developmental need in a subject, the report identifies the number who attempted developmental education in the subject, the number who completed developmental education in the subject, and the number who completed a college-level course in the subject. This report includes 6-year progress measures for the Fall 2015 cohort.

Early Momentum Pathways KPI Report
This non-public report includes (1) Credit momentum KPIs, (2) Gateway math and English completion KPIs, (3) Persistence (Fall to Spring), and (4) College course completion. Comparative KPI data is available for all other VFA Colleges (combined).

Comprehensive Outcomes Report
This non-public report includes detailed two-year progress and developmental outcomes measures for the Fall 2015 and Fall 2019 cohorts. It also includes detailed six-year outcome and developmental progress measures for the Fall 2015 cohort.
