OneCard Overview

What is the Brookdale OneCard?

OneCard is Brookdale’s multipurpose card.  The OneCard serves as the new official College Photo Identification card and a load-on-demand declining balance debit card, Brookdale Bucks. Students and Staff can deposit funds into their Brookdale OneCard eAccount via cash, check, or credit card, and use their OneCard at any of Brookdale’s Dining Service facilities, designated vending machines throughout campus, and the College Store. There is no minimum deposit or balance.

Who is eligible to get a Brookdale OneCard?

All Brookdale students, faculty, and staff are eligible to receive a Brookdale OneCard.

I am a new student - how do I get a Brookdale OneCard?

New students will have the opportunity to receive their Brookdale OneCard during Orientation. If you are not able to attend Orientation, you may obtain a Brookdale OneCard from the Brookdale OneCard Production Offices located in the CAR Bldg., Room 222, on the Lincroft campus (map)and at the Freehold campus at the Self Check-In Kiosk..

You may also have an ID card photo taken at any of the Regional Locations, Hazlet, Long Branch, Neptune, and Wall in the Student Success Center. Your photo will be e-mailed to the ID card office and your card will be sent via inter-office mail to the Student Success Center where your photo was taken.

A valid photo ID such as driver’s license or passport as well as proof of current Brookdale registration is required to receive a Brookdale OneCard. Fast Start and Dual Enrollment students may use an official High School identification card as a valid ID.

I already have a Brookdale ID card. How do I get a Brookdale OneCard?

You can receive your Brookdale OneCard from the Brookdale OneCard Production Offices located in the CAR Bldg., Room 222, on the Lincroft campus (map) and at the Freehold campus at the Self Check-In Kiosk. What if I am an employee (staff or faculty) and am enrolled for one or more classes? Will I receive two cards?

No, you will not receive two cards. Your primary role, “Employee”, will be printed on your Brookdale OneCard. If you are enrolled in one or more classes during the current term, your employee OneCard will give you the same access and benefits given to all enrolled students. Please note, if you un-enroll from all your classes, your student access and benefits will no longer be available; however you will continue to have your employee access and benefits.

What if I am a student and am also a student worker at Brookdale? Will I receive two cards?

No, you will not receive two cards.  Your primary role, “Student”, will be printed on your Brookdale OneCard.  If you are enrolled for one or more classes during the current term, your student OneCard will give you the same access and benefits given to all enrolled students.  Please note, if you un-enroll from all your classes, your student access and benefits will no longer be available.

What else can I do with a Brookdale OneCard?

You can use your Brookdale OneCard at the Library for checking out materials, at Registration, at events, and anytime, you need to show a college ID. It provides you quick and easy access to venues on campus. You can also use your Brookdale OneCard along with Brookdale Bucks (an optional feature) to make campus-wide pre-paid debit purchases with Brookdale Bucks at:

• The Bookstores on the Lincroft and Freehold campuses.

• All dining locations on the Lincroft and Freehold campuses (Jersey Blue Dining Hall, Paddock Convenience Store, Larrison Hall Cruising, and Freehold Dining Café).

• Pay-for-Print printing and copying services at Lincroft and the Regional Location Student Success Centers.

• Events and Conference Center.

• At designated vending machines on all campuses.

• BREC Fitness Center (with an approved membership package – click for more details)

I lost my Brookdale OneCard, what should I do?

Students who lose their OneCard and have a remaining balance in their Brookdale Bucks and/or Money Network Discover accounts should deactivate those accounts immediately.  Students who do not have a remaining balance in their account(s) should come to the ID Card Office in CAR 222 to see if it has been turned in.  If it has not, they will be subject to a $15 replacement fee for a new card.  Cards turned into the ID Card Office will be held for one long semester after being turned in, at which time they will be destroyed and a $15 replacement fee will be required for a new card.

PLEASE NOTE: The Brookdale Police will no longer hold on to lost OneCards.  They will forward them to the ID Card Office in Lincroft.

Deactivating Brookdale Bucks

Using a Web Browser:

  1. Go to Brookdale Buck eAccounts
  2. Enter your NetID username and password to access your account.
  3. Click the Card Services link at the top of the window.
  4. Click Deactivate Card. Deactivating the card will freeze the balance on the card. Any balance will automatically be transferred to the replacement card when it is issued.

Using the Mobile Application:

  1. Launch the eAccounts app on your smartphone or tablet.
  2. Log in with your NetID username and password
  3. Touch the Lost Card button.
  4. Touch the Deactivate Card button at the bottom of the screen.

You can call the Brookdale OneCard office during business hours at 732-224-2888 to report a lost or stolen card. However, Brookdale Community College is NOT authorized to deactivate the card. The card holder is solely responsible for deactivating the card to protect any unused Brookdale Bucks.

Getting your Replacement Card

Replacement cards are issued for damaged, lost or stolen cards at the Brookdale OneCard Production Office located in room 109 (lower level) of the Warner Student Life Center on the Lincroft Campus or at the Self Check-In Kiosk on the Freehold Campus. There is a $15 replacement fee for lost and damaged cards. The filing of an official police report will waive the replacement fee for stolen cards.

What are consequences for misuse of a card?

Your Brookdale OneCard is an official Brookdale resource. All authorized users must abide by applicable Brookdale policies and guidelines, as detailed in the Acceptable Use Policies for all Brookdale users.

Failure to comply with approved policies can result in the loss of access, computing privileges, and enforcement of appropriate disciplinary procedures as well as applicable criminal and civil penalties. All users must in addition abide by the policies described in the Brookdale Community College OneCard Policies and Procedures Terms and Conditions.

 

Brookdale Bucks

What are Brookdale Bucks?

The Brookdale Bucks program is a convenient pre-paid, declining balance debit account, linked to your Brookdale OneCard that lets you use your Brookdale OneCard to make purchases on campus. Deposit funds into your Brookdale Bucks eAccount via cash, check, or credit card, and begin using your Brookdale OneCard for purchases on campus.

Where can I use Brookdale Bucks?

You can use Brookdale Bucks at;

• The Bookstores on the Lincroft and Freehold campuses.

• All dining locations on the Lincroft and Freehold campuses (Jersey Blue Dining Hall, Paddock Convenience Store, Larrison Hall Cruising, and Freehold Dining Café).

• Events and Conference Center.

• Pay-for-Print printing and copying services at Lincroft and at the Regional Location Student Success Centers.

How do I use Brookdale Bucks?

Deposit funds to your Brookdale Bucks eAccount.  Access your Brookdale Bucks eAccount by logging into the Brookdale Bucks eAccount system using your Net ID user name and password and add funds to the account (see “How can I add funds to my Brookdale Bucks” for additional information). Your Brookdale Bucks account is tied to your Brookdale OneCard.

Brookdale Bucks are accessed using the black mag stripe side of the Brookdale OneCard and is the recommended method of payment on campus.  Present your Brookdale OneCard to the cashier where Brookdale Bucks are accepted, and state that you would like to pay with Brookdale Bucks. Your card is swiped through the register and your account will be debited. You can swipe your Brookdale Onecard on designated campus vending machines to make purchases.

What is the advantage of using Brookdale Bucks as opposed to a personal debit card?

Credit cards are not accepted at all locations on campus. You may be eligible for discounts and promotions when using Brookdale Bucks on campus.

How can I add funds to my Brookdale Bucks?

The eAccounts Online OneCard Self-Service offers students, faculty, and staff the opportunity to load money onto their  Brookdale Bucks 24/7 via the internet. Login in using your NetID username and password to transfer money from a credit card onto your Brookdale Bucks account. You can also add Brookdale Bucks to your account at the Cashiers Office in the CAR building in Lincroft and the OneCard Phil station (an ATM like machine) located in the Warner Student Life Center, first floor next to the College Bookstore.

What is my Brookdale Bucks user name and password?

You can manage your Brookdale Bucks eAccount 24/7 using the online Brookdale Bucks OneCard Self–Service eAccounts Enter your NetID user name and password login to eAccounts to make deposits, check balances, and view transactions history and statements.

How can I manage my Brookdale Bucks account (i.e. check balances, see purchase history, make inquiries regarding purchases)?

Brookdale Bucks are managed online by logging into Brookdale Bucks OneCard Self-Service eAccount using your NetID username and password.  You can also click on the Brookdale Bucks green icon on to log into your eAccount. You can make deposits, check balances and get a statement of your transactions.

Are Brookdale Bucks secure?

Brookdale Bucks is on a secure network, and only the account holder can check balances and view transactions. Account holders can manage their account by logging into their MyBrookdale Bucks eAccount using their NETID username and password.  You can make deposits, check balances, and get a statement of transactions.

Is there a mobile app for Brookdale Bucks?

Yes.  Download the BB Transact mobile application for the Android or iOS devices, select Brookdale from the list of schools and log in using your NetID user name and password. You can view your account balances and transaction history.  If you want to transfer money to your Brookdale Bucks eAccount, you will first need to log into the eAccounts using your NetID user name and password and save your credit card information to your account.

Can parents or relatives purchase Brookdale Bucks for me?

Yes, parents and relatives can deposit money into your account, but cannot see your account balance or usage. You can personalize your account by permitting individuals to add funds. They must know your 7-digit Brookdale College ID to add funds. You can also establish a low balance warning email, which will be sent to you and others. You can also set up recurring deposits when your balance gets low. Parents or relatives can deposit to your Brookdale Bucks account by logging into the Brookdale Bucks eAccount Self-Service and selecting the Guest Deposit link.

What if I have a Brookdale Bucks balance?

Submit refund request to Cashiers window at Lincroft located in the CAR building or the Self Check-In Kiosk on the Freehold Campus. You can submit an online electronic refund request form. Approved refund checks are made payable to the account holder and mailed to the current address on file. Refunds will not be processed for balances less than $25. You are encouraged to spend smaller balances.

Can I withdraw cash from my Brookdale Bucks account?

No. Brookdale Bucks can only be used for purchases.

 

How do I close my Brookdale Bucks account?

You must submit a Brookdale Bucks Account Closure Form to close your Brookdale Bucks account. You may obtain a Brookdale Bucks Account Closure Form from the Cashiers window in the CAR building on the Lincroft campus. You may also submit an electronic Brookdale Bucks Account Closure Form.

If I close my Brookdale Bucks account, can I receive cash at the time of closing?

No, there are no cash refunds for unused Brookdale Bucks. A refund requests must be submitted to Cashiers window at Lincroft located in the CAR building. You can submit an online electronic refund request form. Refunds are made payable to the account holder and mailed to the current address on file. Refunds will not be processed for $25 or less. You are encouraged to spend smaller balances.

Is there a fee associated with closing a Brookdale Bucks account with a balance?

No, there are no fees associated with closing Brookdale Bucks account.

 

Why can’t parents view the students account balance and activity online?

According to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), we are unable to share this information. The law is designed to protect the privacy of the students. The student may grant access up to ten people to view the account details. Click here for FERPA guidelines outlined in the Terms and Conditions.

What happens to funds at the end of each semester?

The funds deposited into a Brookdale Bucks account remain active for up to five years from the last enrolled term. You may request a refund for any unused balances over $25.  A refund requests must be submitted to Cashiers window at Lincroft located in the CAR building. You can submit an online electronic refund request form. Refunds are made payable to the account holder and mailed to the current address on file. Refunds will not be processed for $25 or less. You are encouraged to spend smaller balances.

When does a card become inactive?

When you are no longer enrolled as a credit student at Brookdale, which gets determined during the add/drop period, the Brookdale OneCard will no longer be a valid Brookdale Community College Photo ID. However, Brookdale Bucks will remain active and redeemable for purchases on campus for five years from the time of your last current enrollment. For further information regarding your status, please contact the Registrar’s Office.  An authorized college administrator for just cause can direct the Campus ID Office to activate or deactivate a card manually.

Lost. Stolen and Damaged Cards

  1. Launch the eAccounts app on your smartphone or tablet.
  2. Log in with your NetID username and password
  3. Touch the Lost Card button.
  4. Touch the Deactivate Card button at the bottom of the screen.

 

NOTE: If you are unable to access your Brookdale Bucks eAccount online or on your mobile device, call the OIT Help Desk at (732) 224-2829 to report a lost or stolen card. OIT will assist in deactivating your card to protect any unused Brookdale Bucks. You MUST then get a replacement card. Any Brookdale Bucks balance will automatically be transferred to the replacement card when it is issued.

Fees

Is there a replacement fee for a lost, stolen or damaged card?
