Excel 2016 Level 2

Learn to mine critical information from your raw data. This course covers the more sophisticated functions in Excel needed to analyze and present data. You will work with functions and lists and analyze data. Learn how to develop PivotTables and PivotCharts to present data in an organized manner. Workbook included. 9 Hours.
Prerequisites: Knowledge of Excel Level 1 or equivalent experience.

Excel 2016 Level 3

Learn to analyze with large amounts of data and gain actionable insight by using advanced PivotTable and PivotCharts. You will be able to summarize and organize the data in a way that can be meaningfully presented to others. Additionally, gain a solid understanding of how to use Excel Power Pivot to manipulate, and report on your data in the best way possible. Workbook included. 12 Hours.
Prerequisites: Knowledge of Excel Level 2 or equivalent experience.

Data Visualization with Tableau

Tableau is a data analytics tool used to connect to a wide range of data sources, and allows users to quickly create visualizations of connected data to gain insights, show trends, and create reports.  This course is designed for professionals who use desktop or web-based data-management tools such as Excel to perform numerical or general data analysis. Learn to use Tableau to capture and report on data and provide data visualizations in reports.

This era of “big data” has exploded due to the rise of cloud computing, which provides an abundance of computational power and storage, allowing organizations of all sorts to capture and store data. Leveraging that data effectively can provide timely insights and competitive advantages. Tableau® software is designed for this purpose. You will use Tableau’s data connection capabilities and visualization features to go far beyond those that can be found in spreadsheets, allowing you to create interactive worksheets, dashboards, and compelling storytelling that bring data to life and turn data into thoughtful action.

In class, students will be working with Tableau Public datasets. Work book included. 8 hours
Prerequisites: Knowledge of Excel Level 2 or equivalent experience.
Note: Students need to bring their own electronic devices to class in order to use the software.
