Want to show your pride in Brookdale, spread cheer and connect with local communities where we live and serve? If yes, join your colleagues in the Brookdale contingent participating for a second consecutive year in three Monmouth County Saint Patrick’s Day parades in March.

The communities and dates include Asbury Park on Sunday, March 8; Freehold on Sunday, March 15 and Keansburg on Saturday, March 28.

“It was a great opportunity to show Brookdale pride and support recruitment efforts. It was a bonus that my family could participate too,” said Yesenia Madas, associate vice president for student affairs who participated in the Asbury Park and Freehold parades last year. “My children attended the first one with me. The second one my spouse, children and dog came too. It was really terrific.”

“Our involvement in last year’s events created a lot of visibility for us in the communities and opportunities for interaction along the routes.”

“There is a huge amount of pride that comes with marching with the Brookdale family and wearing our colors proudly,” said Tarin Varvar, student services associate and CCOG navigator, who marched in the Asbury Park, Freehold and Keansburg parades in 2019. “We have seen alumni, current students, and family members cheer us on as we marched, and I think it has really made a positive impact on our image and connections to Monmouth County.”

“I marched in the parades because I wanted to represent Brookdale and let the people see how much we love our jobs, the students, and the community,” said Dawn Murray, inventory control assistant, who participated in the Asbury Park parade last year. “I thoroughly enjoyed being with my fellow co-workers, laughing, and having a genuinely great time.”

“We had a perfect spot in the parade, and the community was very receptive to our appearance,” said Debbie Almeida, manager of accounts payable and special projects, who marched in the Asbury Park parade last year. “We wore Brookdale hats and all had clickers which we gave out to the parade attendees,” she said. “Everyone was just so positive. I had a great time, and I am so happy we are marching again this year.”
