Rates

All Students – $3.00 / hour

Community Members – $5.00 / hour

Brookdale Employees – $4.00 / hour

VR – $7.00 / half hr

Student Monthly Pass (25 hours; 1 VR session) – $60.00 ($22 savings)

Student Semester Pass (100 hours; 4 VR sessions) – $225 ($103 savings)

Free – Arcade Machines, as well as Xbox Series X, PS5, and Switch available for free on a first-come, first-served basis at 3 different 55” TVs. Controllers and available games can be checked out for use at front desk.

Rules

No Bullying – Zero tolerance policy for harassment based upon any aspect of a person’s identity. This also includes no threats of violence or acts of intimidation that will encourage a hostile environment or situation.

No Cheating – No cheating, match fixing, or other means of gaining an unfair advantage. Any act that compromises the competitive integrity of a game or competition is not permitted.

Stay Clean – No open containers of food or drink are permitted in the Esports Arena. A sealable drink is permitted while you are not seated at a gaming PC.

Self-Care – Be mindful of your fellow gamers. We encourage you to practice good hygiene. Keep noise levels at a non-disruptive level and no excessive use of profanity.

Data Security – Always log out of your accounts. Do not share any login information with other users, even staff. Brookdale Esports is not responsible for compromised accounts. Do not download, share, or view any illegal or explicit content on the Arena’s equipment.

Personal Devices – Always ask for assistance before you connect any of your own devices or peripherals to Brookdale Esports Equipment. This also includes downloading games from your personal library onto our PCs and consoles.

Varsity Team Tryouts

Brookdale Esports Tryouts Pertinent Information

Tryouts will be held in-person only at the Esports Arena located on the first floor of the Student Life Center (SLC) building at the following date and times:

Varsity Teams

• Overwatch – January 18, 2024 at 5:00 p.m.
• COD: MW3 (4×4) – January 23, 2024 at 5:00 p.m.

Requirements

• Attend Brookdale as Full-Time Student
• Maintain 2.0 GPA
• Be able to attend all practices and official matches

Tryouts will consist of the following:

• Introductions and getting to know one another
• Breaking off into groups in Discord guided by in game rank and desired role
• Scrimming while our coach(es) walk around and analyze game play

Criteria that will be judged:

• Communication
• Rank
• Teamwork
• Mechanics (aim, movement, positioning, etc.)
• Attitude
