Brookdale, Monmouth County’s official county college, is certified by the State of New Jersey and the United States Department of Education to grant associate degrees to students who complete formal programs of study.

Brookdale is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.

The Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) is an institutional accrediting body that evaluates and accredits colleges and universities to ensure they meet established standards of quality. MSCHE is recognized by both the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

To maintain accreditation, colleges must demonstrate ongoing compliance with MSCHE’s Standards for Accreditation and Requirements of Affiliation through regular monitoring and review, including periodic evaluation through the Self-Study Process. MSCHE reaffirmed Brookdale’s accreditation in June 2019. Brookdale will undergo its next Self-Study in Academic Year 2026-2027.

Brookdale adheres to the Public Disclosures Policy, which calls for the College to publicly disclose consumer information in a manner that is honest and truthful, and accurately represents its current accreditation phase, accreditation status, and scope of accreditation.

The Automotive Technician Training program meets the requirements for Master Automobile Service Technology Accreditation — the highest level of program accreditation recognized by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE).

The Culinary Arts A.A.S. program is accredited by the American Culinary Federation Education Foundation’s (ACFEF) Accrediting Commission, 180 Center Place Way, St. Augustine, Florida 32095.
Brookdale Community College is a proud member in good standing with the Association for Advancing Quality in Educator Preparation (AAQEP), a national accrediting body recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

The Brookdale Community College Alternate Route to Teaching program has received AAQEP’s initial accreditation, valid through December 31, 2029.
