The screams are returning to Brookdale Community College’s Performing Arts Center (PAC) this October as the award-winning Brookdale Haunted Theater celebrates its 23rd year with a full lineup of Halloween experiences.
From its signature immersive haunt to a family-friendly lights-on tour and a late-night screening of The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
Voted Best Overall Attraction for seven consecutive years by NJHauntedHouses.com, Brookdale’s Haunted Theater has become a Halloween tradition for thrill-seekers throughout New Jersey.
At the heart of it all is an attraction imagined and brought to life by Brookdale students. Designed, built, and operated by past and present students, the Haunted Theater transforms the entire Performing Arts Center into a terrifying labyrinth filled with gruesome scenes, sinister creatures, elaborate sets, special effects, and heart-pounding surprises.
This isn’t a stage show. Guests make their way through a fully immersive haunted house experience that winds through the facility, with frights lurking around every corner.
Enter if you dare.
The Haunted Theater will be open Oct. 9–11, 16–18, 23–25, and 29–30, from 6 to 10 p.m. at Brookdale Community College PAC, 765 Newman Springs Road, Lincroft, off Museum Drive.
Tickets must be purchased in advance for a designated time slot; tickets will not be sold at the door. Group rates are automatically applied for groups of 10 or more and 25 or more, and buses are welcome. Convenient parking is available in Lot 2, with accessible parking in Lot 1.
See the Haunt Without the Scares
For those who want to experience the creativity behind the attraction without the screams, Lights On, Scares Off offers a family-friendly look inside the Haunted Theater on Oct. 17 between noon and 2 p.m. and Oct. 24 between 2 and 4 p.m. Tickets are $10 plus service fees.
With the lights on and the actors, jump scares, and loud noises removed, guests can walk through at their own pace and get a closer look at the sets, props, effects, and details created for the nighttime attraction.
Members of the Haunted Theater team will be available to answer questions and share behind-the-scenes insights into how the experience comes together. The event is ideal for younger guests, horror fans interested in the artistry of haunted attractions, and anyone who wants to see what is often missed when they are too busy screaming.
Do the Time Warp at Brookdale
The Halloween celebration continues Friday, Oct. 23, with a late-night screening of the cult classic The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
Doors open at 10:30 p.m., with the movie beginning at 11 p.m. Tickets are $20 plus service fees, and $5 prop bags will be available for purchase at the door.
Whether you come for the scares, the behind-the-scenes experience, or a late-night Halloween classic, Brookdale’s Performing Arts Center will offer three very different ways to get into the spirit of the season.
