Two Brookdale administrators were recently honored with awards from local and national associations.
Dr. Anita Voogt, Brookdale Community College’s associate vice president of strategic partnerships and Long Branch Councilwoman, was recently honored with the Vin Gopal Civic Association Community Public Servant Award and the Trinity Public Service Award from Trinity African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church. Both organizations are located in Long Branch.
Allison Fitzpatrick, interim dean of the Wall Campus and regional locations at Brookdale Community College, was selected by the National Association of Branch Campus Administrators (NABCA) as the 2019 President’s Service Award winner. The award recognizes individuals for their outstanding contributions and achievements to NABCA.
The Vin Gopal Civic Association is a non-profit that helps individuals in Central Jersey who are negatively affected by the unique high cost of living and who struggle to maintain economic independence.
This year’s theme for Trinity AME’s Annual Remarkable Women Awards was “Lift Her Up” as a reminder of the organization’s mission to guide and direct young women to ensure they are lifted to new levels in life.
Fitzpatrick has been an NABCA member since 2009. She has served in a variety of leadership roles, including conference site host at the Brookdale Community College Freehold Campus and Long Branch Center. Fitzpatrick’s service also includes Delegate at Large for the Executive Committee for 2013-2014, Conference Chair in 2014-2015, Vice President in 2015-2016 and President in 2016-2017.
