Therapy dogs from the Bright and Beautiful Therapy Dogs organization visited campus prior to exam week and their abilities to help all feel at ease were on abundant display. Students and members of the Brookdale community stopped by the Bankier Library and Student Life Center to meet the dogs and their handlers. The Library and Student Life co-sponsored the event as part of the Anti-Stress Week programming.

News 12 New Jersey’s Jim Murdoch stopped by and the segment appeared on the news broadcast. See the feature at this link: http://newjersey.news12.com/story/39639985/therapy-dogs-brought-in-to-help-students-destress-before-finals.

The dogs visit campus at the end of each semester prior to exam week. Librarian Amy Clark, who helped to organize the event, said research shows that the dogs help to alleviate stress and have a calming effect on people. She added that their visits are much anticipated each year.
