LINCROFT, NJ – Brookdale Community College will offer a series of internationally themed events in Lincroft, Freehold and Asbury Park from Nov. 17 – 20 as part of International Education Week (IEW).

The week will kick off with a special dinner at the Culinary Education Center in Asbury Park and a free screening of the French film “The Intouchables” at the Asbury Park Showroom on Nov. 17, beginning at 5:15 p.m.

On Nov. 19 the college will partner with the U.S. Postal Service to offer a “one-stop passport shop” at its Freehold campus, 3680 US Highway 9 South. First-time applicants can submit an application, pay their fee and have their photos taken in the main lobby from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Other IEW events include an Afro Brazilian dance demonstration on the Lincroft campus and a global citizenship seminar presented by Trina Talukdar, a member of the U.S.-based nonprofit Atlas Corps.

Attendees can also learn about the wide range of study abroad programs offered through Brookdale, including available scholarships and other funding opportunities.

IEW is a national initiative sponsored by the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education. Now in its 15th year, the program is designed to promote the benefits of international education and encourage more Americans to take advantage of study abroad opportunities.
