Lincroft, NJ– Members of the press are invited to attend Brookdale Community College’s second annual Scholars Day on Wednesday, May 15, 2013. The event brings together members of the faculty and staff to learn about the diverse educational initiatives, research projects and professional accomplishments of the Brookdale community.

The event, held in Larrison Hall and the Student Life Center at Brookdale’s Lincroft campus, begins at 8 a.m. with light refreshments. Participants will hear opening remarks by Dr. Diana Phillips, Executive Vice President for Educational Services at 8:30 a.m., followed by the keynote address on ethics and civility by Jonathan Moschberger, Associate Professor of Political Science; Carl Calendar, Dean of English and Reading; and Geoff Shields, Learning Assistant and Adjunct Instructor.

Starting at 9:45 a.m., faculty and staff have the opportunity to choose three 45 minute breakout sessions, covering topics as diverse as STEM education, photography, academic integrity, and studying abroad.

The day will conclude with lunch served between 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., followed by remarks from Dr. Maureen Murphy, President of Brookdale Community College.
