he Performing Arts Center (PAC) at Brookdale Community College is inviting actors, singers, dancers, and performers from throughout the community to take the stage during its 2026–2027 season. Upcoming audition opportunities include the PAC’s award-winning Haunted Theater, the holiday favorite A Charlie Brown Christmas, the suspenseful comedy-thriller Deathtrap, and the high-energy rock musical American Idiot.

All auditions will be held at the Brookdale Performing Arts Center, 765 Newman Springs Road, Lincroft, NJ, in Parking Lot 2.

Haunted Theater

Each fall, Brookdale’s Performing Arts Center undergoes a dramatic transformation for Haunted Theater, an award-winning haunted attraction that turns the entire PAC into an immersive haunted maze. Auditions are open to actors and performers interested in bringing the attraction’s characters and scares to life.

An additional actors-only audition will be held September 17 at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. Auditions are improv-based, and there is no need to prepare material in advance. Participants should wear comfortable clothing that allows for movement and closed-toe shoes.

Haunted Theater performances:
October 9, 10, 11, 16, 17, 18, 23, 24, 25, 29 and 30, from 6–10 p.m.

A Charlie Brown Christmas

The classic animated television special comes to life in this faithful stage adaptation featuring Charlie Brown, Snoopy and the rest of the beloved Peanuts gang as they discover the true meaning of Christmas.

Auditions will be held September 22 and 24 from 6–8 p.m., with callbacks on September 28 at 5:30 p.m.

Sides will be provided at the audition, so there is no need to prepare a monologue. Those auditioning should prepare “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing.” Sheet music does not need to be brought to the audition.

December 3 at 11 a.m.
December 4 at 7 p.m.
December 5 at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
December 6 at noon

Deathtrap

Filled with twists, suspense and dark humor, Deathtrap follows successful Broadway thriller writer Sidney Bruhl, who finds himself struggling after a series of failures. When a student sends him a new script with the potential to become a Broadway hit, Sidney devises a plan that quickly takes unexpected—and increasingly dangerous—turns.

Auditions will be held December 7 and 8 from 6–8 p.m., with callbacks on December 9 at 5:30 p.m.

Sides will be provided at auditions, and no advance preparation is necessary.

Performances:
February 19, 20, 26 and 27 at 7 p.m.
February 21 and 28 at 2 p.m.

American Idiot

Based on Green Day’s groundbreaking album, American Idiot is an energy-fueled rock opera following Johnny, Tunny and Will as they struggle to find meaning in a post-9/11 world. The three friends set out to escape the constraints of their hometown, only to find their lives taking dramatically different paths through love, responsibility, military service and self-discovery.

Auditions are planned for December, with dates to be announced. Those auditioning should prepare 32 bars in the style of the show. There is no need to prepare a monologue; sides will be provided at the audition. Performers invited to callbacks should wear clothing suitable for dancing.

Performances:
April 16 and 23 at 7 p.m.
April 17 and 24 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
April 18 and 25 at 2 p.m.
