Students at Brookdale Community College were among 7,500 students nationwide who participated in the online Cyber FastTrack program. The 11 Brookdale students scored a state ranking of #6 and a national ranking of #123 among 5,200 colleges in the competition, placing Brookdale in the top tier category. The SANS Institute sponsored the program and competition.  The organization included Brookdale among the top colleges for employers to recruit cyber talent.

The SANS Institute was established in 1989 as a cooperative research and education organization. Its programs now reach more than 165,000 security professionals around the world.

“This recognition is an affirmation of the excellent work Brookdale students continue to do in the field of cybersecurity,” said Professor Michael Qaissaunee, chair of the engineering and technology program at Brookdale. “Our students are well prepared for careers in a high-demand field that will only continue to create more opportunities in the coming years. “
