LINCROFT, NJ (Nov. 16, 2017) – Community members of all ages are invited to participate in a 3K walk for Caribbean hurricane relief on Thursday, Nov. 30 beginning at 11:30 a.m. at Brookdale Community College, 765 Newman Springs Road, Lincroft.

All proceeds will benefit Habitat for Humanity’s ongoing efforts to restore housing in Caribbean islands impacted by Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Maria.

The 3,000-meter walk traverses Brookdale’s 220-acre flagship campus, beginning at the college’s Student Life Center building. Parking is in lots 6 and 7.

Entry is $5 per person. Additional donations and contributions by non-walkers are welcome. Water and snacks will be provided. For more information call Debbie Mura at 732-278-2234 or email dmura@brookdalecc.edu.

The walk is hosted by students in Brookdale’s The Innovation Network (TIN), a college-wide initiative that allows students to earn college credit for organizing and participating in service-learning projects.

Recent TIN projects include a benefit auction and student art show in support of the Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Freehold and a campus-wide “greening” initiative in Lincroft.
