Brookdale Students Travel to Italy to Experience Global Fashion Firsthand

A group of fashion merchandising students from Brookdale Community College has embarked on a study abroad experience in Italy during the Summer Term for an immersive program exploring the global fashion industry.

The 10-day “Fashion in Italy” program brings students to the iconic cities of Milan and Florence, widely recognized as two of the world’s fashion capitals, where classroom learning meets international inspiration. Through guided tours and curated experiences, students are stepping into the heart of Italian design, craftsmanship, and cultural influence.

Highlights of the trip include visits to renowned fashion institutions Fondazione Prada, Armani/Silos, Salvatore Ferragamo Museum, and Gucci Garden. Students are also exploring world-famous cultural sites, including the Uffizi Gallery and Galleria dell’Accademia, connecting fashion to art history and Italian heritage.

Beyond museum visits, the program includes hands-on leatherwork, guided fashion district tours, and opportunities to engage with local artisans and industry professionals. With international travel, accommodations, and daily programming included, the experience offers students a comprehensive look at the global fashion landscape.
