Brookdale Community College sophomore center fielder Ray Mulhern capped one of the most accomplished seasons in Jersey Blues baseball history by earning NJCAA Division III Second Team All-America honors, a spot on the prestigious ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Awards® Team, and recognition as the Brookdale Baseball Player of the Year.
The Manahawkin native and Southern Regional High School graduate was a standout on both sides of the ball, helping lead Brookdale to a 44-14-1 overall record, a 25-8 conference mark, and a return trip to the NJCAA Division III Baseball World Series.
A First Team All-Region and First Team Garden State Athletic Conference selection, Mulhern established himself as one of the nation’s most complete players. He led all NJCAA Division III players with 102 runs scored, ranked 11th nationally in stolen bases, and earned GSAC Player of the Week honors during the season.
Defensively, Mulhern was flawless in center field. He recorded a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage, totaled 106 putouts, and did not commit a single error in 58 games, earning selection to the 2026 NJCAA Division III Baseball ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Awards® Team.
His outstanding all-around performance also earned him Second Team NJCAA Division III All-America honors, joining teammate Dawson Smail, who was also named a Second Team All-American following an impressive freshman campaign.
Together, Mulhern and Smail helped guide the Jersey Blues to another championship-caliber season and reinforced Brookdale’s reputation as one of the premier baseball programs in the nation.
