Lauren Concar Sheehy will be honored by The Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore, in addition to 10 others, as part of the fourth annual Phenomenal Women Under 40 event on Wednesday, September 18 at The Mainland in Manahawkin. The award recognizes the up-and-coming women leaders in the community who are making a difference in the workplace and through their community service and volunteerism.

Active in television production while in high school, Concar Sheehy earned her associate’s degree in broadcasting from Brookdale. While still a student, she worked at video production companies in New Jersey and New York.

“I was very fortunate getting a great job right out of Brookdale,” she said. “Brookdale prepared me well, and I am grateful, especially to the Communications Media department.” In 1999, she started working for Brookdale.

“Lauren is a great ambassador for Brookdale on and off campus. As alumni association president, she is tireless in ensuring that our alumni are informed about our students’ achievements and in seeking their support to help today’s current generation achieve its goals.”
