FARMINGDALE, NJ (Aug. 22, 2017) – Community members and local businesses are invited to tee off in support of local students at the 38th annual Education Open Golf Tournament, held Tuesday, Sept. 19 at Eagle Oaks Golf and Country Club in Farmingdale.

The event, hosted by the Brookdale Community College Foundation, will feature a full day of golf on Eagle Oaks’ 18-hole championship course followed by a cocktail reception and a gourmet awards dinner.

Golfers can compete for a wide range of individual and team prizes, including a new car courtesy of Circle Infiniti of West Long Branch. Blind skins games, a 50/50 cash raffle, and silent and live auctions will be offered as well. All golfers will receive a pair of golf shoes, a sleeve of balls and free entry into a tournament-wide putting contest.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to mingle with local scholarship recipients and special guests, including former New York Jets star Joe Klecko.

The full-scramble tournament begins with a buffet brunch at 10:30 a.m. followed by an 11:30 a.m. shotgun start. Registration and driving range access begins at 9:30 a.m.

The tournament will benefit the Brookdale Foundation’s “Building Minds, Building Futures” scholarship fund, which has provided more than $5 million in college scholarships to more than 7,000 local students over the past 17 years. The tournament is co-chaired by Tina Munson, of Lomurro, Munson, Comer, Brown & Schottland in Freehold, and Carmen Penta, of Addeo, Polacco & Penta, LLC in Eatontown.

“The Education Open is a first-class golf outing at a premier golf course, with proceeds supporting hundreds of local students who are working to build a better life for themselves,” said Munson. “Join us, have a great day on the links and invest in the success of students who will go on to be valuable members of our communities.”

A wide range of golf packages, dinner-only reservations and sponsorship opportunities are available. The rain date for the tournament is Tuesday, Sept. 26.
