The Brookdale Community College Foundation’s 39th Annual Education Open Golf Tournament on September 27th at Eagle Oaks Golf & Country Club in Farmingdale, NJ raised $60,000 for Brookdale’s “Invest in Student Success” Scholarship Fund.

“Brookdale is a gateway to thousands of Monmouth County residents each year who are pursuing their academic degrees, career training and certifications and lifelong learning goals,” said Brookdale President David M. Stout. “Supporters of our annual tournament make it possible for those who need scholarship and financial support to begin on that path.”

The Brookdale Foundation honored former National Football League great Phil Villapiano at the Awards Dinner. Villapiano, a Jersey Shore resident, played in 13 NFL seasons for the Oakland Raiders and was a key part of the Super Bowl XI victory. The Foundation recognized Villapiano for his athletic accomplishments and charitable work.

The outing attracted 130 golfers, with team and individual competitions and two separate holes-in-one contests. Prizes included a two-year lease on a 2019 Infiniti Q50 Sedan from Circle Infiniti in West Long Branch, NJ and a two-year lease on a 2019 Cadillac XT4 Crossover from Gold Coast Cadillac in Oakhurst, NJ.

“We are grateful to our event and prize sponsors, attendees and those who helped to make this year’s event a success,” said Timothy Zeiss, executive director of the Brookdale Foundation. “So many support this event every year, among others, to provide opportunities for individuals in our communities.”

The Brookdale Community College Foundation is a non-profit governed by a Board of Trustees comprised of business and community leaders throughout Monmouth County.
