Brookdale’s Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach, and Alumni Connor Hansen, Howell, NJ, continues to make a name for himself in the soccer world, and has recently been named to the prestigious Elite Development Program Soccer (EDP) Promising Young Coaches List for 2022.

Hansen, received an Associate of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Brookdale. He played two seasons as a defender for the Jersey Blues in 2017-18, serving as captain both years before transferring to Stockton University. In 2018 as a center-back, Hansen led the back line of the Jersey Blues to an undefeated 10-0-1 GSAC record. He allowed just two goals total with nine games being shutouts. Hansen also recorded four goals, three game winners, and four assists; all from set pieces.

Hansen’s accolades at Brookdale include, First Team All-Conference and First Team All-Region in 2017. In 2018, he was an NSCAA All-American selection as well as the Region XIX tournament defensive MVP.  Hansen was also recognized as team MVP in both 2017 and 2018.

Hansen has been a coach and trainer for Soccer Specific Training since 2018 and has served as the head coach of both the 2011 Ocean Strikers and 2013 Wall Elite Ajax. A current player for the Jackson Lions, Hansen was apart of the squad that won the 2019 state cup and most recently captained the U23 side to a USASA Region One final. Hansen joined the Brookdale soccer coaching staff for the 2021 season.

Founded in 1999, Elite Development Program Soccer (EDP) is one of the largest organizers of youth soccer leagues and tournaments in the U.S. EDP operates youth leagues for boys and girls ages 9-19, conducts a Futures program for players ages 7-11, and operates U20/23 men’s and women’s leagues.
