Brookdale Head Women’s Basketball Coach, Rich Brunson, was recently featured in a short film entitled, “Rutgers Basketball: The Forgotten Era.”

Brunson talks about his basketball journey and the mentors he had in his life, specifically, the late Tom Young, who was Brunson’s coach at Rutgers University. Tom Young passed away on Sunday, March 20th, 2022, at the age of 89. Young is the winningest coach in program history, and led the Scarlet Knights from 1973-1985, amassing a 239-117 overall record for a .671 winning percentage.

Rich Brunson was a member of the Rutgers University men’s basketball team from 1979-1983, where his team would make the NCAA Division I Tournament twice! In Brunson’s freshman year, the team made it to the Sweet 16.
