Brookdale welcomed 20 international students to campus for a January 16 orientation prior to the start of the spring semester. The students hailed from 12 counties, with the largest contingent from Brazil.

For many of the students, this is their first time in the United States. The International Education Center (IEC) organized the orientation to provide some basic information about available Brookdale resources.

“We are grateful to all who spoke at the orientation and helped our students feel welcome,” said Lucy Wadych-Ketley, IEC assistant director. “We all emphasized to the students that they should not hesitate to ask questions and to take advantage of opportunities in and outside the classroom. Our team received a lot of positive comments from those students who attended.”
