CONGRATULATIONS to the Brookdale Jersey Blues, who continue to make a mark in their program by prioritizing positive character development on and off the fields and courts. The Blues have recently earned the distinguished NJCAA Region XIX Champions of Character Award for the 7th time and fifth year in a row. The Jersey Blues are recognized for their contributions from the Fall 2022 to Spring 2023 semesters.

The Brookdale Jersey Blues have participated in the following community service initiatives for the Fall 2022 & Spring 2023 semesters:

*SAAC adjoined with men’s and women’s soccer for a “Pink Out” in support of Breast Cancer Awareness.

*Mens cross country volunteered at the Fall 2022 Open House.

*Volleyball advocated for Breast Cancer Awareness with a “Pink Out” during their game.

*Men’s cross country participated in Asbury Park’s, Santa Run, for the non-profit organization, Lunch Break.

*Women’s Soccer volunteered at Brookdale’s Haunted Theater.

*Men’s Basketball assisted at the JBJ Soul Kitchen in Red Bank, NJ.

*SAAC donated eight bags of warm clothing to Lunch Break in Red Bank, NJ.

*SAAC and the softball team donated formal wear to a local high school.

*Men’s basketball hosted St. Mary’s Youth Basketball Team to help prep and pep the team to victory.

*Softball donated their time and skills to help run a clinic for a local youth team during their stay at the National Tournament in Dewitt, NY.

“The Champions of Character Award is given annually to a Region XIX institution that clearly demonstrates outstanding results in character development of its student-athletes and coaches by embracing the true spirit of competition through the five core values of respect, responsibility, integrity, servant leadership and sportsmanship. The institution also demonstrates outstanding involvement in the community, which results in positive character development through sport.
