The Brookdale women’s soccer team defeated Bucks County Community College by a score of 5-0 on Friday to win the Region XIX Tournament District C Championship. The victory raised the team’s record to 15-1 overall and 10-0 in Region play.

The team was led by sophomore defender Madison Doria and freshman midfielder Haley Dalonzo who were named Defensive and Offensive MVPs of the tournament, respectively. Dalonzo scored two of the team’s five goals in the final match while Doria netted one.

Freshman forward Lauren Karabin posted two assists, both going to Dalonzo. Karabin also recorded one goal on the day. Freshman midfielder Emma Kuper ripped a beautiful shot from the top of the eighteen to score the third goal of the game.

Sophomore midfielder Jessica Textor and freshman midfielder Bethany Olejarz had one assist apiece in the team’s championship victory. Sophomore defender Devon Moreno controlled the defensive line as sophomore goalkeeper Sheridan Casserly grabbed eight saves. Sophomore defender Kelly Negra tallied one save.

This was a true team victory. Every student-athlete stepped up, played great and contributed in the ninety minute contest.

The Jersey Blues now advance to the NJCAA Division III National Tournament, which will begin on Thursday, November 8th. Rock Valley College is hosting the tournament in Rockford, IL.
