FREEHOLD, NJ – Residents interested in careers in information technology, health care and other in-demand fields are invited to a free workshop at Brookdale Community College’s Freehold campus on Aug. 16.

The college’s first “Career Saturday” will offer a wide range of information on growing industries and the best, most affordable ways of breaking into them.

Attendees can also complete a digital career assessment that evaluates their personality and recommends a number of potential career paths, along with corresponding college majors and certificate programs.

“This is a one-stop shop for anyone considering a new career,” said Dominic Latorraca, director of Brookdale’s Center for Career Development. “You can assess your skills and interests, learn about job market demand and find the right education or training program for you.”

Latorraca will co-host the workshop with Sarah McElroy, director of career services at Brookdale. Financial aid and admissions staff will also be on hand to discuss grant opportunities and offer one-on-one assistance to anyone in attendance.

The workshop will be held from 9 to 11:30 a.m. in the Community Room at Brookdale’s Freehold campus, 3680 US Highway 9 South. Coffee and tea will be served.

Attendance is limited, so an RSVP is required. To register call 732-625-7025 or visit http://formsmarts.com/form/1gkq.
