Roger Rosenblatt, award-winning journalist, memoirist, playwright, and bestselling novelist came to Brookdale Community College on November 12 as part of the Dr. Carl Calendar Visiting Writers Series.

At the event, which was co-sponsored by Life-Long Learning, Rosenblatt shared personal anecdotes and stories with the audience. He also read from one of his recent works Rules for Aging: Resilience and Humor in Life. “If you have a strength, play to it,” Rosenblatt said. “Establish your strength and strengthen it,” was the advice he gave to the audience.

Rosenblatt’s pieces for Time magazine and PBS won two George Polk Awards, a Peabody Award, and an Emmy. He is the author of 16 books, including the national bestseller Rules for Aging, and the author of 6 off-Broadway plays.
