Brookdale STEM Students Invited to Apply for $2,000 NASA-Sponsored Internships

Five Brookdale students will have the opportunity to take their STEM education beyond the classroom through a $2,000 NASA-sponsored research internship during the 2026–2027 academic year.

Through the New Jersey Space Grant Consortium (NJSGC), selected students will work one-on-one with a Brookdale faculty advisor to explore a research topic connected to a NASA mission, gaining valuable hands-on experience while building skills that can support their academic and career goals.

This year’s group will become Brookdale’s 13th cohort to participate in the program. The internship begins in September 2026 and continues through May 2027, culminating in an opportunity for students to present their completed research projects to the Brookdale community in April.

The New Jersey Space Grant Consortium works to advance aerospace and STEM education and foster research and development throughout New Jersey. Its programs include academic-year research opportunities for undergraduate students at colleges and universities across the state.

Could You Be One of the Five?

Eligible students must be U.S. citizens, as required by NASA, and must:

• Be enrolled full time at Brookdale Community College
• Be a declared STEM major
• Have completed at least 24 credits, including two semesters of coursework required for their major
• Have a GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Maintain full-time enrollment during Fall 2026 and Spring 2027
• Have a Brookdale faculty member agree to supervise their research
