Kenneth K.D. Wilson is back by popular demand as the keynote speaker for this year’s Minority Male Initiative Conference held at Brookdale Community College on Friday, February 24, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

K.D. is one of the nation’s leading student success and educator empowerment speakers and an author passionate about seeing students and educators reach their maximum potential in all aspects of life. Brookdale Community College, in partnership with Monmouth/Ocean County Pan Hellenic Council, will provide for high school and college minority male students the opportunity to meet with professionals from various careers in concurrent workshops. This year’s theme is Developing Skills to Meet Today’s Work Environment. The professionals will have experience working in jobs within one of the five career clusters: STEM, Communications Media, Health Science, Business and Social Science, and Theater. When registering for the conference, students will be asked to choose a career cluster workshop category based on their interests.

In addition to providing first-hand information about careers, students can network with students from Brookdale and other schools and professionals who may work in a field of interest. Brookdale scholarship opportunities will also be available to students that register and attend the conference.

Space is limited. A continental breakfast and brunch will be provided. To register for the conference or learn more about scholarship opportunities, contact Lisa Savage at LSavage@brookdalecc.edu, or visit the website. Applications for scholarships are due on Friday, February 24, 2023.

Sponsored by Community College Opportunity Grant, First Energy, New Jersey Natural Gas, Brookdale Educational Opportunity Fund, and Two River Theater, this conference will provide students with the resources they need to succeed in college and their careers.
