Education Field Experience

Education Field Experience (EDUC/EDEC199)

Education field observation is a 50-hour commitment that is only available during Fall or Spring semesters. Students take EDUC/EDEC199 the year after* they complete EDUC/EDEC105. For example, if you completed EDUC105 in the Fall semester, you would take EDUC199 the following Fall semester.

Placement for the education field observation (EDUC/EDEC 199) requires: 

1. A grade of B or better in EDUC/EDEC 105 within the past 5 years
2. Attendance at orientation meeting

Registration for EDUC/EDEC 199 is only done after the mandatory orientation session.

Eligible students will be invited via Brookdale email to an information session. All correspondence will be through Brookdale email only.

*Students who are unable to follow this schedule may request consideration due to extenuating circumstances. Examples of such circumstances include:

• Completion of EDUC/EDEC 105 was over 5 years+.
• Academic improvement since taking EDUC/EDEC105
• Medical or health-related hardship
• Student athlete scheduling conflict
• Family or personal emergency
