How to Apply for Honors at Brookdale
Please note: You must apply for admission to Brookdale Community College before submitting this application. If your application is incomplete, it will not be considered. Create an account HERE.
Deadline: Because this is a competitive program with limited enrollment, you are encouraged to apply early. The priority deadline for Fall admission is April 15, with a final deadline of June 30. Priority deadline for Spring is November 1, with a final deadline of January 1.
A complete application packet will include:
- High school and/or college transcript indicating at least a 3.5 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) or a 3.94 (on a 4.5 scale)
- Minimum SAT and/or ACT scores to waive the placement test (visit brookdalecc.edu/testing-services/placement-testing for the current scoring range)
- A letter of recommendation from guidance counselor, teacher/professor or someone who can address your preparedness for a rigorous program of study. Your letter of recommendation can be uploaded with your online application documents or emailed separately by the recommender to Professor Jonathan Moschberger jmoschberger@brookdalecc.edu and Professor Ana Teodorescu ateodorescu@brookdalecc.edu
- Resumé and/or list of achievements including awards, scholarships, and membership in clubs and other organizations. The admissions committee may also request an interview.
- Required essay: Write an essay of 500-800 words on ONE of the following topics: What is the value and importance of community service in our society and tell us what it means to you; In your opinion, what is the greatest challenge your generation will face? What ideas do you have for dealing with this issue?; Discuss some issue of local, national, or international concern and its importance to you.
