Lost library material - replacement options/costs

If you loose your library material such as a book or laptop, you will be subject to a 26.00 processing fee.

For laptops, you will have to pay the full price for a replacement.

For books, there are a couple of options…

You can pay the listed cost in which our library payed to purchase it, (prices vary) or you may purchase a replacement copy on your own.

Please note, if you are purchasing the copy on your own, please contact the circulation desk to obtain the books ISBN number.  The book must be the same exact edition and format as the one lost.  If the book is used, it must be in excellent to very good condition.  No highlighting, writing, ripped pages will be accepted.

Same rules apply for all multi-media items such as DVD’s, headphones, adaptors, etc.

How to I change my personal information

Please visit the Brookdale Registrar’s Office if there are changes in your personal information.

Missing item on shelf

If an item in our catalog is missing from our shelves, please report it to the library staff.  If the item cannot be located by a staff member, you may request it through through an Interlibrary Loan.

How do I request a semester loan laptop?

Using the Special Collections room

Students, staff, faculty and community members can gain access to search our institutional special collection.

For Books:

Please present an assignment w/instructor’s name to one of our library staff.

 

Other Special Collection Material – newspapers, articles, maps and more

If you would like to browse institutional items other than books, please email the special collections liaison, Shay Delcurla.

No other staff member is permitted to give permission to use these materials.  You may present our library staff with an email confirmation from the liaison.  Without the liaison’s approval, you will be denied access.

 

For Community members, please contact the special collections liaison to request access.

 

Our special collections houses irreplaceable material.  This is a non-circulating collection.  No food or drinks are permitted within the room.

How do I find my library barcode?

For Brookdale students, faculty and staff:
Your library barcode is your 7-digit Brookdale ID number.

For all others with a Brookdale library courtesy card:

Study Room Policy
