Brookdale students and employees toured an exhibit and related displays in the Student Life Center last month, including items loaned from the African American Inventors and Inventions Traveling Museum. The museum featured items, including biographies and photos, of inventions designed and improved by African Americans over the years.

The displays also featured African-Americans prominent in a variety of fields from politics, arts, literature, entertainment and numerous other areas. The panels provided an overview of their respective careers and contributions.

Brookdale’s Office of Student Life and Activities sponsored the display and numerous other campus events in celebration of African-American History Month. The presentation by astronaut, author and scientist Leland Melvin on February 28 concluded the series.
