LINCROFT, NJ (Dec. 18, 2015) – Brookdale Community College women’s soccer coach Katie Miller and freshman forward Heather Arbachesky have earned top honors from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).

Miller, of Holmdel, has been named NSCAA Coach of the Year for leading the 2015 Brookdale Jersey Blues squad to a 19-1 record and their third straight national championship in only her fifth year as coach.

A former Jersey Blues player, Miller has also led her team in local community service efforts including the collection of needed school supplies for Project Backpack and hosting a clinic for the Red Bank recreational soccer program.

Arbachesky, of Wall, has been named NSCAA Player of the Year for her 2015 campaign, which included 19 goals and 13 assists en route to a national title. She was also named an NSCAA first-team All-American.

“We are both extremely proud and humbled by this honor,” said Miller. “All of our players work so hard on and off the field, in the classroom and in the community, and they truly deserve all the success they have had this year.”

The Jersey Blues women’s soccer team became the first athletic team in Brookdale history to win three straight national titles by winning the National Junior College Athletic Association’s Division III National Championship Tournament on Nov. 15 at Ocean County College in Toms River.
