The Center for Holocaust, Human Rights and Genocide Education (Chhange) at Brookdale Community College invites students, employees, and community members to come hear Chanty Jong’s story of survival on Thursday, March 7 at 7 p.m. in the Navesink Rooms of the Student Life Center. Jong was eight years old when civil war erupted in her hometown of Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

Jong survived the brutal regime of the Khmer Rouge, the terror of its leader Pol Pot and ultimately escaped to the United States. Come hear Jong’s testimony of her experiences during the genocide and her lifelong battle with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Jong joins Chhange to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the collapse of the Khmer Rouge and the end of the Cambodian Genocide. Admission is $10 and free for Brookdale students and Chhange members.
