Shrewsbury resident Ms. Latonya Brennan, CSRM received a warm welcome as she was sworn in as the newest member of the Brookdale Community College Board of Trustees during their monthly meeting in January. She was appointed by the Monmouth County Commissioners on January 21, 2021, to fill the unexpired term expiring on October 31, 2021, of Trustee Dan Becht. Becht by law could not serve any longer on the Board of Trustees, as he became an elected official in Wall Township. Brennan had previously served on the Board having been appointed by Governor Chris Christie.

Latonya has over 18 years of client relationship experience.  She comes to the Board of Trustees team with a solid background in risk management for public entities.  While serving school districts at New Jersey School Boards Association and New Jersey Schools Insurance Group (NJSIG), she acquired an extraordinary understanding of public entity risk management needs.  Latonya is also a Past President of the Associate Business Members for the New Jersey Association of School Business Officials. She is a licensed New Jersey Property & Casualty and Health Producer and amongst a few insurance professionals who have earned the Certified School Risk Management (CSRM) designation.

“I have missed her keen insight and her thoughtfulness and the energy that she brings. We have a fantastic Board and bringing her on-again is such a compliment to our existing Board. I’m just thrilled to see her back,” said Trustee Suzanne Brennan, whose sentiments were echoed by other members of the Brookdale Board of Trustees.
