Students gained experience and explored potential careers by attending the Learn @ Lunch series sponsored by Career and Leadership Development. Students learned more about a specific field by visiting local businesses and networking with professionals.

The first event in the spring semester took place at Springboard PR, a public relations firm located in Bell Works in Holmdel.  Established in 1995, Springboard works with other companies to create and implement public relations, marketing, social media, and design campaigns. Students who are interested in public relations, graphic design, computer science, and marketing toured the facilities and spike with professionals in the field.

The next event was held at 1SourceVideo, located in Hazlet directly across from Brookdale’s Hazlet Higher Education Center. Students interested in video and audio production, communications, and media got a firsthand look at the company’s  production studio.

Students visited the Monmouth County Mosquito Control in Tinton Falls on March 28. Those interested in helping the environment learned about how the county tries to control the mosquito population by reducing standing water and introducing fish that eat mosquito larvae.

Education and human services majors visited Voyager School in Eatontown on March 29. This private school offers educational programs for toddlers, high school students and also operates  an outdoor middle school.
