In partnership with the Monmouth Ocean County Panhellenic Council, Brookdale Community College will host the Eighth Annual Minority Male Initiative Conference (MMIC) on Friday, February 25, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., virtually on Zoom.

Kenneth K.D. Wilson is back by popular demand as the keynote speaker for the conference. K.D. is a student success and educator empowerment speaker and an author with a passion for seeing students and educators reach their maximum potential in all aspects of life.

A “go-to” expert in academics and life skill development, K.D. believes that everyone was born on PURPOSE, with PURPOSE, and for a PURPOSE!

He graduated at the bottom of his class in high school and was told he was not college material. Nevertheless, he weathered the storms of opposition and changed that narrative as he graduated from North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and received a master’s degree in Christian Studies from Duke University.

K.D. is a former teacher, former youth minister, and former police officer. When he was a police officer, he logged in over 9,80 hours engaging the community to make it a safer and more productive environment. K.D. has experience working with diverse populations ranging from lower income neighborhoods to those in the higher socioeconomic standing. In addition, he has made it his personal goal to treat all with respect, appreciation, dignity, and understanding. As a result, his peers awarded him Officer of the Year for exceptional community outreach and service.

K.D. teaches students and educators to be free of fear, regret, and doubt while living up to their full potential. Best known for his “7 Pillars of Success” presentation, K.D. has impacted students and educators so much that studies show a 93% increase in productivity, focus, and task completion from those implementing the formula. He shows students “HOW” to achieve fulfillment in school and life and “WHY” education is critical.

The conference is open to all high school and college students. Brookdale scholarships are available for participants in the Minority Male Initiative Conference.
